Real Housewives of Atlanta: Season Finale

Hey guys! I'm Ginette and I am watching Real Housewives of Atlanta tonight. I actually love this season. Nice change so many different things going on. So first things first, Kenya is a hater. Like I don't understand why she would have a costume party and ask Porshia to come as Halle Berry, but from her ghetto fab role in movie, "BAPS." Then she proceeds to kick Porshia out of the event when she shows up as Dorothy Dandridge instead. So distasteful.
I like how the rest of the girls decided that they would leave if Kenya did not let her back in. Kenya is super vindictive and petty. I really love the way Nene acted as the mediator. That was extremely mature of her. It seemed as though Nene was the only reason Kenya apologized to Porshia. So I am assuming that the only reason she said sorry was because she wanted to keep the peace with Nene. So this is was the season finale. I cannot believe Porshia and her husband are getting a divorce ! I am not surprised though he did seem sort of controlling and I'm super happy Nene and Greg are getting remarried! Can't wait for the reunion !

Worst Cooks In America Episode #6 by Kyla Stan

This is it! The last episode before the finale this Sunday! I am truly excited and curious to see who is going to win. Before I get to that, let me discuss this weeks episode.

This week, the recruits got a special surprise. They had to cook for their loved ones! The dishes would then be labeled A and B, and the loved ones of the recruits had to guess who cooked what. On the red team, Sue's loved one was her son (he was so grown up for his age!) Rasheeda's guest was her twin sister, Alina, since her family is in Russia, her loved one was somebody she took care of and last but not least... Chet. His special guest was his mother. What a mamma's boy! he would not stop crying after his mother came in the room. Even Bobby Flay had to ask if he was alright and he couldn't speak. Anne Burrell laughed to herself. After the recruits met up with their guest, it was time to bring on the challenge!
For this week, the Red Team, lead by my personal favorite, the fabulous Anne Burrell, had to cook a pasta dinner. Yeah, not that easy. The dough and sauce had to be made from scratch! I think Rasheeda did very well for this test. Sue on the other hand, panicked a bit with the pasta dough. Next, on the Blue Team, Bobby Flay asked both Alina and Chet to create a Southern classic, fried chicken and greens. Even though Alina and Chet got the same meal, they both had separate recipes. Chet didn't cook his chicken right and it came out a little dark. However, Alina did pretty well! Now it was tasting time. The red team went first. Rasheeda's dish was presented first and both Rasheeda's sister and Sue's son loved it. Then Sue's dish was presented. Rasheeda's sister picked Rasheeda's dish and Sue's son picked his mother's dish. BOth were very pleased with the results.
As previously mentioned, there has been some rivalry between Chet and Alina. Now it was down to which relative was going to pick the corresponding dish. Unfortunately for Chet (I don't like him anyway,) his mother and Alina's loved one both picked her dish. Both Chet and Susan were sent home, with only Alina and Rasheeda left. Cool! I like both of them so I'm excited to see whose going to be the winner. We'll see in the next blog post :)

Amores Verdaderos - Real Loves Part 2

Juliet here again! =)

So two week's ago Elsa which is Nikki in the novela "Amores Verdaderos" was almost hit by a car and her bodyguard Francisco saved her life by jumping in the middle for her. Last week, she got better in the hospital and went home where her mother took over in caring for her and gave Francisco off for the week. Francisco decided to catch up with family members and on the weekend he met up with his long lost sister for dinner and drinks. Nikki suspected something and without letting her mother know, she left to go spy on Francisco. When she saw him with his sister which appeared to Nikki as "another girl" she was so upset that she went back home and called her ex boyfriend to come console her.

Now, she is reconnected with her ex boyfriend to be spiteful to Francisco and Francisco is so hurt by it. He told Nikki it was his long lost sister he hadn't seen in months and she won't believe him. He even called her up and put her on speaker phone and Nikki still wasn't having it. Now poor Francisco has to go back on the job and witness Nikki kissing her ex boyfriend and being all cuddly with him. It breaks my heart seeing him like that and it's so funny because I usually don't feel bad for men, but like in the fairy tales and make believe stories, this guy is for sure a prince charming. Poor Francisco, poor guy!! :(

He really loves her... you can tell.
Nikki is always screaming at him and hiding behind her true feelings.

Worst Cooks In America Episode #5 by Kyla Stan

This week on "Worst Cooks In America", this had to be my least favorite episode, which I will discuss later on. This week, the recruits were taught how to find and use fresh ingredients in a local supermarket. In addition to this, they were also taught how to make various types of dumplings, similar to a previous episode (they had to stop ordering takeout and create their own Chinese food).
Notice the happy faces of the Blue Team :)
After the recruits took notes on how to make the various dumplings along with a few side sauces, they were told they were not going to work individually, but on teams. The challenge this week was to work in teams and decode clues to discover what ingredients had to be used to create the dumplings. The dumplings would then be served to the shoppers in the grocery store, and whoever had the most votes, would win the challenge.  I had to say, the Red Team was much more organized, and listened to each other, but on the Blue Team, it was the complete opposite. Alina and Chet kept bickering and fighting and poor Carla tried to tell them the answers. I couldn't believe they didn't figure the clues out. I think a toddler could have understood the clues. Even after all the ingredients were found they still continued to fight!

Alina would try to show Chet something (he has an attitude to begin with) and they were fighting over how to use the food processor. Poor Carla. I feel bad she really had to deal with that immature nonsense. I also felt bad for her because she had to cook 20 dumplings but almost forgot 2! Later on, their main dish challenge was to feed bar food to a bunch of bikers at a bar. I found the food that Bobby and Anne selected to be odd and not really bar food. They chose it to make it a bit upscale, but that's not really what bar food is about. The red team seemed to belt out another win. I really like Anne Burrel. From all the seasons I have watched, she really knows how to ingrain important culinary information into the contestants heads! Unfortunately, since Carla messed up her quesadillas (she really did mess this up. They were falling apart.) she was sent home, and her little love affair with Bobby came to an end.
Stay tuned for more!

GIRLS Episode 10 Season Finale

Hey guys! Ginette once again! So last Sunday was the Season Finale of GIRLS. First things first, Hannah is a hot mess. Poor thing needs to get it together. I feel so bad that her anxiety has gotten to this point. And can I just say that the E book guy is a sociopath! How he expects her to write a book in a day is beyond my knowledge. Then she cuts all her hair off which was a bad move. I think it is safe to say that she is having a mental break down. I think it's cute how it shows her and her ex Adam having breakdowns at the same time and then she just happens to FaceTime him. He's totally onto her and runs all the way to her apartment whilst FaceTiming. Ah pure romance !! So happy Marnie n David get back together and that Shoshanna breaks up with her boyfriend. Ugh I hate that the season is over so soon! Great ending tho! :)

Worst Cooks In America Season 4 by Kyla Stan

Worst Cooks In America:

Food Network has hosted and created a wide variety of culinary creations, most of them including how-to shows by famous celebrity chefs, or culinary cook downs. This particular show has been aired for a while, and previously included celebrity chef Robert Irvine, who also hosts Restaurant Impossible. The base of this show starts off in a similar way that American Idol starts. People audition by bringing in food they created. The people who have created the worst possible cuisine are part of the show. Then the entree of the show starts. Celebrity chef Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay have separate teams, and each chef must teach their team a wide variety of culinary tricks including how to butcher and cook a chicken, making your own takeout and even how to fillet a fish. Slowly the teams will loose their members, two at a time, one from each team.
Recently, Bobby and Anne were teaching their "recruits" as they are called on the show, how to make cake! This was a very fun episode to watch. First, the chefs explained that they would not be using box cake, which is a simple way out of the real art form of making a cake. After the chefs explained some basic techniques such as temperature control, having the exact amount of ingredients and put the wet ingredients to the dry, the recruits were off on their own. Their challenge this week was to create a cake for surprise clients. The red team got a retired elderly woman, while the blue team got a birthday cake for two very rambunctious twin boys.
Carla and Bobby Flay
I must say, in no way am I what a chef would call a professional when it comes to cooking. However, I have taken a BOCES class on basic cooking (yeah, basic doesn't mean less or easier information) as well as growing up around my Grandma and her fantastic Puerto Rican and Cuban recipes. I do know and understand how to balance flavors, textures and understand basic cooking techniques. Some of my favorite things to make are Italian food, which my Italian/Irish boyfriend seems to think I make pretty well, and Puerto Rican and Cuban food as well, which my whole family loves. It is amazingly funny to watch these poor people cook! It just never dawned on me that for people, cooking really does come as a challenge. Carla of the blue team has been my favorite person ever to watch! She is spunky with attitude and flavor and is absolutely hysterical; boy does she have a crush on Bobby Flay. When she created her cake, she wasn't listening to what the chefs said which was use EXACT ingredients! Instead, she was correct with her dry ingredients, but chose to anything she wanted with the milk.
Unfortunately, I will not reveal who was eliminated, but this show keeps making me want to watch it again and again!

Once Upon A Time Season 2 Episode 17 [VC]

"WELCOME TO STORYBROOKE"

Episode 17 has now aired and had me at the edge of my seat wishing the commercials could be fast forwarded. Questions went through my mind such as, why did they go back in time? Who is this little boy? Whats going to happen next episode?

During this episode they took us back to the beginning, when Regina [Evil Queen] first casted the curse. Everything was perfect for her, she was now Mayor of Storybrooke and everyone worshipped her. They did as she asked never doing anything different unless she said to. Regina had power but still there was something missing....Love, genuine love from another.

Going to the past this episode let us see Regina was in need of love and would do anything to have it. When Curt and his son Owen Flynn came into town she fell in love with the little boy and the thought of being a mother. She wanted Curt and Owen to stay in Storybrooke so she can be with Owen. As we all know Regina, she will do anything to get what she wants, and thats exactly what she tried to do when Curt decided it was time to leave town. She had the Curt Flynn wrongly accused of drunk driving and was arrested. As his son, Owen, watched as he was arrested he sobbed and was going to run away from Regina but suddenly stopped to talk to her. She told the boy she wanted "them" to be happy and that was why she was doing this. The key words that would stick with Regina for years to come was his response "Not like this." Owen ran away to find help and Regina took his Curt away, never to see his son again.

As we go back to present day Storybrooke, Regina's mother Cora has passed away and she is now seaking vengence on Mary Margaret [Snow White] for causing her mothers death. Only problem here was if Regina kills Mary Margaret she will lose Henry [her son] for killing his grandmother. Regina found a curse that would make someone "think" they loved another, this would allow her to have both vengence and Henry.

At the end, Henry was able to convince Regina that cursing him to think to love her and killing Mary Margaret would only destroy his family. Regina destroyed the spell and let Mary Margaret live. As Mary Margaret was feeling guilty still for the bad she's done went to Regina and begged her to kill her to stop the feud. Happily, Regina rips out Mary Margarets heart, but looking at her heart she notices it has a little bit of darkness growing inside. This makes Regina ecstatic because she knows personally once you've allowed darkness in your heart it just keeps growing. So, Regina puts back Mary Margarets heart and tells her she will let Mary Margaret destroy herself and her family on her own now that she has darkness in her heart.

As all this played out there was a man videotaping the magical events that took place. Until this past episode no one knew who this guy was and he was always at the right time videotaping Regina using magic. Well, now we know he's little Owen Flynn all grown up.

The episodes are juicer than ever, can not wait untill the next episode. Will Owen find his dad ? Will Mary Margaret's heart really fill with darkness? Will the feud ever cease? We'll find out next week Sunday on ABC at 8p !

GIRLS Season2 Episode 9

Hey there, Ginette here! So, this week I will be talking about the addicting series on HBO, 'GIRLS'! HBO is currently airing the second season and aired Episode 9 last week Sunday. The season begins with Hannah who dates Elijah for a little but that doesnt last because of their difference in political views. Hannah also signs a deal to write an E Book which she is so excited for. Marnie loses her job, becomes a hostess girl and hooks up with the infamous artist of the show, Booth Johnson. Shoshanna realizes that her boyfriend, Ray, has sort of moved in with her without her knowing.  Hannah has a little fling with a 42 year old doctor. Jessa meets her husband, Thomas John's, parents. This encounter does not go over so well and leads to their seperation. This results in a visit to Jessa's fathers house with Hannah. Jessa, the free bird that she is, decides to go m.i.a, leaving Hannah on a journey home alone. Hannah realizes that her OCD has returned and she is having a hard time controlling it. Adam, Hannahs ex boyfriend returns to AA where he will meet the mother of his future girlfriend. This is sum up episodes 1 through 8 of the season.
Now for episode 9... So the episode starts off with Adam and his new girl, she announces that she is ready to be intimate with him and then next thing you know they're an official couple. We then realize that Hannah's OCD is really getting the best of her, to the point where she jams a q-tip in her ear. It really seems like the pressure of writing the Ebook may be the reason why her anxiety has triggered. I feel so bad for her :( she seems to really be going through it. Marnie on the other hand, is a singer now and is beginning a journey in "finding herself". I feel like shes sort of imposing herself on her ex, Charlie. He has this party for his new companies accomplishments and she takes it upon her herself to sing Kanye West's "Stronger," in her own melody. He seemed mortified at first but then we see this CLEARLY turns him on because they get hot and heavy in the back office. OMG and poor Ray. Shoshanna cheated on him and is acting really weird (as per usual) and distant the entire party. Ray senses this, approaches her and then she admits to "holding the doormans hand!" #GirlBYE.
Back to Adam! He is at this engagement party with his new girlfriend, walks outside for air, and who is walking down the street? Hannah. Its so awkward and she learns that he is now taken. So he goes back inside and orders an alcoholic beverage. THIS IS BIG. He is in AA! Why are you drinking Adam!? He said it was because he feels like he should be able to show his girl a good time.. but we all know its because of Hannah! After he takes his girl to his apartment and forces her on all fours, makes her crawl to his bedroom and proceeds to have sex with her. He was awkwardly and uncomfortably aggressive. She was mortified! I'm pretty sure he should not have had any drinks and I am also pretty sure that by the next episode, they will no longer be a couple. We shall see!

Amores Verdaderos - "Real Loves"

Hello, Juliet here! :)
Amores Verdaderos - "Real Loves" is a Novela on Channel 6. I usually don't watch TV but when I get home at 9pm every night my mother is in the living room watching it so I sit with her and get entertained watching it. The Novela has a lot of scenarios in it but last night's was the one of this young adult Elsa. Elsa is a rich young girl who is very conceited and thinks too highly of herself but she is beautiful. You can tell that inside her heart she is very warm and pure and she means well but she lets her anger and all her problems take over and that’s where her evil attitude comes out. She is secretly in love with her bodyguard. (Who by the way is so cute!)

But of course he is her bodyguard and is not so filthy rich like her. He is in love with her as well and in this episode he saved her life by jumping in front of a car that was about to run her over. She was okay but he got hurt pretty badly. When they went to the hospital she was so worried and crying that he even though he was hurt he felt so happy because he realized she really does care for him. But when the doctor came in and said that he would be fine, she let her evil side take over and left him there alone.

I feel like she’s so stupid for being like that but then I can’t blame her because she’s been through a lot. Previously before falling for this bodyguard, she was always dating crappy guys that would treat her bad and just use her for her money. So she obviously thinks he’s going to do the same but you can see it in his eyes that he’s different. He really lovers her and I can’t wait to see if they end up together.
